The Gambia University of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology (USET) traces its origins back to 1983, when it was established as the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI).

In early 2020, GTTI transitioned into The Gambia University of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology (USET), expanding its academic scope and reinforcing its commitment to applied science, engineering, technology, and innovation.
