
The Vice Chancellor of the Gambia University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology, Prof. Nazmat T. Surajudeen-Bakinde, has officially declared Innovation Week 2026 open, setting the stage for a dynamic celebration of creativity, collaboration, and forward-thinking ideas.
Under the theme “Transforming Ideas into Reality: Innovating for Now and a Better Future,” this event highlights USET’s commitment to becoming a leading hub for applied innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-driven skills.
Innovation Week is more than an event it’s a platform where:

From startup pitching sessions to panel discussions and industry engagements, students are being empowered to turn concepts into real-world solutions that contribute to national development.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized USET’s mission to produce graduates who are not just academically prepared, but also entrepreneurial, solution-driven, and ready to lead change. Through initiatives like the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Lab, the university continues to build a pipeline of innovators ready to shape The Gambia’s future.
